How to count keys on a keyboard

Are you having trouble figuring out the number of keys on your keyboard? Do you need to know how many keys are included in the layout? If so, then this article is for you.

In this guide we will go over the steps that you need to take in order to effectively count and identify the keys on your keyboard.

1. Familiarize Yourself with Keyboard Layouts - Before counting the keys on your keyboard, it is important to take a moment and familiarize yourself with the different types of keyboard layouts that exist. Different keyboards can have a different configuration of keys and functions, so it's important to understand what type of layout you are dealing with when counting your own personal keyboard. Familiarizing yourself with standard layouts such as QWERTY, DVORAK, or COLEMAK can help ensure accuracy in your count.

2.Counting Keys - After familiarizing yourself with the layout of your keyboard, it is time to begin counting keys. To count correctly each individual key must be counted once, not twice but also not skipped over. Counting each key may seem tedious at first but only requires a short amount of time for anyone who has a smaller sized keyboard where less keys are included in the layout. When counting try not to confuse similar looking symbols as one single key rather than two separate ones as they may represent different functions i.e shift and apostrophe( ' )

3.Checking Accuracy - Once completing an initial count of all the available keys on your particular keyboard it is pivotal that you double check and confirm accuracy as one mistake within counting can lead to an inaccurate count result . For double checking convenience , many keyboards now come equipped with a printable chart that includes all possible symbols or characters found within it so taking note or double checking accuracy by comparing the results found within said chart is easier then ever before !
